The Cruise Welcome Volunteer Program, managed by the Newcastle Tourism Industry Group (NTIG), plays a vital role in ensuring cruise visitors enjoy an outstanding experience and leave as enthusiastic advocates for Newcastle and the surrounding Hunter Region.

With a record 18 cruise ships visiting Newcastle during the 2026–27 cruise season, more than 30,000 passengers will arrive in the region — and we’re expanding our volunteer team to meet the growing demand.
