This month’s meeting highlights the City of Newcastle product development mentoring program and we hear form some of the participants.

Speakers at the next Members Meeting include:

  • Margaret Shannon (Visitor Economy Lead) City of Newcastle A brief update on the Product Development Workshops (PDW) Program, including key outcomes, participant progress, and how the program is supporting the growth of bookable, visitor‑ready experiences across Newcastle.
  • Luka King (Marketing Lead) Modus Bringing people behind the beer – how our brewery tours are elevating the Modus experience.
  • Aunty Theresa Dargin – (Cultural Authority & Governance) Warrimay Nyuragil / Spiritual Water Ways Indigenous Corporation Aunty Theresa Dargin will share Gilayn Galbaan Yalawanyi Bathuga – Moon Woman Gathering On Water – the first Indigenous bookable tourism experience on water in Newcastle, and how cultural healing, storytelling and connection to Country are shaping a new direction for Aboriginal-led tourism experiences.
  • Matt Field – Midtown Coordinator Midtown partners with ARIA to launch Newcastle’s first live music tour.
  • Sarah English (Audience Development Coordinator – Civic Theatre Newcastle) City of Newcastle. Inviting audiences backstage at Civic Theatre Newcastle
  • Janet Newton (Owner & Founder, The Yellow Door Kitchen) From Side Hustle to Signature Experience: Building The Yellow Door Kitchen while working full-time, navigating challenges, and creating a bookable tourism product that connects visitors to Newcastle through food.
  • Sophie Byrne (Director) – Optimised Consulting Will speak briefly about the program at the end to close out the session, but will also touch on the tourism industry overall and what we are currently seeing in the digital marketing space.
