Dominic May has stepped into the role of Chairman of the NTIG Committee following Michael Stamboulidis’ requirement to step down from the committee altogether. Michael will continue to be a member within NTIG and looks forward to attending the monthly meeting when time permits.

In Dom’s position as Founder of CoastXP, he is a major advocate for the Newcastle visitor economy, being named Newcastle’s Young Citizen of the Year in 2023. His passion for tourism has allowed him to expand to Lake Macquarie and increase the tourism profile of the Hunter coast. We wish Dom all the best in this new position.

Further changes to the Committee include the resignation of Rob Fahey due to work committments, like Michael, he will continue to be involved with NTIG at a Member level.

Colin Law has stepped down from the position of treasurer while Jim Garis has stepped into the position. Kent Warren, Chairman before Michael, has stepped into the position of Vice Chairman.

Finally, we are pleased to welcome one old and one new face to the NTIG Committee. Fiona Okpalogu, General Manager of Rydges Newcastle, rejoins the NTIG Committee. Fiona was on the Committee when NTIG was first founded and we are glad to welcome her back. Meanwhile, Cameron Burns, Business Development / Operations Manager at Earp Distilling Co. has also joined the Committee after having been involved as a Member.

On behalf all NTIG members, the Committee would like to thank Michael and Rob for their invaluable contributions and wish Dom, Kent, Jim, Fiona, and Cam all the best in their new role.
