Marketing benefits for local tourism operators

As a local tourism operator member you will also:

  • Be promoted on Newcastle’s 16 tourist information touch-screen kiosks as well as the ‘Visit Newcastle’ website 
  • Be promoted nationally through the NTIG co-operative leisure marketing campaigns (valued at $80,000 for 2011/12) 
  • Be promoted nationally through the NTIG co-operative business marketing campaigns with attendance at expos and events (valued at $70,000 for 2011/12) 
  • Receive greater opportunity to access marketing initiatives through third party website promotions with co-operative packages 
  • Receive conference and function leads from Newcastle Convention Bureau 
  • Access to Destination NSW for inclusion in the media famils program, access to Demand Building Funding and co-operative marketing campaigns, as well as support for Regional Flagship Event Funding 
  • Access to and greater support for regional awards including members-only workshop 
  • Receive greater attention and support for Regional Flagship Event Funding applications than non-members from the local area 

* Only members receive communication from Tourism Hunter in regards to marketing, funding and awards. This is distributed via NTIG on a weekly basis.

Associates

Tourism businesses (tour, attraction or tourism service provider) that operate within approximately one hour drive of Newcastle CBD, but outside the LGA and thus become Associates of NTIG, can be listed on the Visit Newcastle website and tourist information touch-screen kiosks. However, this listing may be withdrawn once there is sufficient member based product listed.

 

Operators yet to join

Tourism businesses operating in Newcastle but who have not yet joined NTIG may:

  • Receive conference leads from Newcastle Convention  Bureau, after they have been offered to NTIG members
  • Have the opportunity to participate in cooperative leisure and business marketing campaigns, after paying an additional cost equivalent to NTIG membership
  • Have their product profiled on Visit Newcastle website until there is a representative sample of tourism products operated by NTIG members, after which their listing will be removed
  • Have their product profiled on tourist information touch-screen kiosks until there is a representative sample of tourism products operated by NTIG members, after which their listing will be removed
